Heroes Denied - The Malayan Harrier Conspiracy

Heroes Denied: The Malayan Harrier Conspiracy - Colin Frisch Doesn't it make you sick how soldiers are treated by those who expect them to do the dirty for them.

This is the true WWII story of a group of Australian soldiers who, refusing to surrender, heroically made their way back to their homeland only to be treated with suspicion if not outright condemnation.

I was listing a copy of this today that has been inscribed by Bob Moore, one of the men who was part of this group. My mother was telling me, as we discussed it, what a horrific story it was. Fifteen of them were in Malaysia and what an amazing tale to read of their hair-raising escape back home. Only to be treated like shit. Wouldn't you just be ashamed to be a human being? If we were?

You can read more about it here and listen to Bob Moore MANY years later on talking about it here:

I'm pleased to read that it was a best-seller, since I had to list it on goodreads myself.
